Chapter member Sue Lazara
Chapter member Sue Lazara presented an interesting, informative PowerPoint on the life of Mark Epperson at our October meeting. Our U.S. Daughters of 1812 chapter is named for Epperson, a War of 1812 Tennessee militiaman who migrated to the Sulphur River by November 1834. There for many years he operated a ferry on the well-traveled Trammell’s Trace. After her program, Sue received the prestigious Spirit of 1812 Award, a certificate and medal presented to someone who has made great contributions to the Society.
