Professional photographer gives pointers

This past Friday Wayne Grubbs, a professional sports photographer for Max- Preps, gave Mrs. Smoak’s 7th period Tiger Tracks Yearbook staff some tips and tricks of the trade. Students learned the importance of lighting, how to anticipate action, and get low on the sidelines to capture the perfect shot. We are grateful to professionals like Mr. Grubbs for taking the time to come share their experiences with our students.

A vaccine clinic was held at the Family Life Center at the First Baptist Church on All Day street. Pastor Johnathan Stanmore along with the help of Doctor Richard D. Hackney founder of the Net Healthcare Taskforce organized the event with the intention of working with churches to spread the message of COVID and get a vaccine. Treats and prizes were given at the event. Raygene Edwards won a TV for the grand prize. 32 people were vaccinated. The organizers said they would be back in four weeks to give the second shot. Family notes on George Moore Echols, MD

The Echols family has resided in America for many generations dating back to the original immigrant, John Echols who arrived in 1650 from England. He married his wife Mary Cave in Virginia. Branches of this family lived in Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina and later descendants migrated to Tennessee, Georgia, and Alabama by 1820. During the late 1840’s, many Echols families came to Texas taking advantage of the inexpensive land and new opportunities the state offered.
