Renovations and upgrades are underway at Smith-Wall Stadium where a new concession stand, opposing player locker rooms, a storage room, a pavilion and referee locker rooms are being built.
Mayor Travis Ransom presents Ravyn Solis (top photo) and Chloe Sherman (bottom) with a $750 scholarship awarded each year by the local Atlanta Lions Club to a few graduates. Solis plans to attend Stephen F. Austin University and study biology to become an ER doctor. Sherman plans to attend the University of Central Arkansas in the fall.
Domino’s Christian Food Pantry is serving people from all over East Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas and Oklahoma. Produce is available every first and third Thursday. Boxed food is on the second and fourth Wednesday. The service is one of the 212 food stations supplied by the East Texas Food Bank, located in Tyler.
