Around the area, reports have come in from motorists being pulled over in greater numbers. A larger part of the increased traffic stops has come from two initiatives happening right now through June 4. First, “between May 22 and June 4, officers statewide are stepping up their efforts to ticket anyone not wearing a seat belt, especially at night.” Second, officers are pulling people over to remind people to switch lanes for emergency vehicles. Additionally, officers are on the lookout during memorial day weekend for drunk drivers.
Focused Care at Linden held a Family Night last Tuesday, with residents receiving a visit from the King of Rock-n-Roll himself just two days later.
National Police Week occurs every May, and in 2023 there will be live, in-person events commemorating the week. In Cass County, on May 17, at the Cass County Law Enforcement and Justice Center, there was an event memorializing the fallen police officers from our area. Nationally, the National Law Enforcement Memorial and Museum will hold ceremonies, including the 35th Annual Candlelight Vigil held on Saturday, May 13, to honor the fallen officers whose names have recently been added to the Memorial.
Four Linden Area Churches come together to host a Kids Community Event, to better allow kids to get to know Christ. The event included bounce houses, bands, games, petting zoos, and Vacation Bible Study signup opportunities.
