Daniel Garcia, 25, of Linden, owner of the local animal rescue Save’em Acres was in an accident on Highway 59 near Linden, Texas that took his life. Preliminary investigation indicates that Garcia’s vehicle, a 2013 Chevrolet Camaro, was southbound on US 59 when it hydroplaned in standing water while raining. Garcia’s car went into the northbound lane where it was struck by a second vehicle, a 2019 Ford F150 driven by Frank Rutigliano, 32, of Houston.

A 33-year-old man was shot during a domestic dispute on Thursday. According to Sheriff Larry Rowe, “on July 28, 2022, the Cass County Sheriff ’s Office was dispatched to a home in the Bivins, Texas community. The caller advised that Roosevelt Falls, age 33yrs, was there in violation of a protective order and that she was hiding in the bathroom with her children. The caller also advised that her mother was outside talking to Falls.”

H.O.P.E Ministries along with First Baptist Church, Pinecrest Baptist Church, Linden Masonic Lodge, 4-H, CEP, Linden Together, Linden United Method 1st Church, Ebenezer CME Church, Salem Baptist Church, Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, New Light Baptist Church and Macedonia Baptist Church hosted a community back to school bash on Saturday July 30th that featured free backpacks, hotdogs and school supplies.
