Every October for the past 19 years the Texas Bigfoot Research Center hosts the Texas Bigfoot Conference in Jefferson. People travel from all over the world to attend the conference, which will be held October 16-17.

On Sept. 11, local radio station KPYN hosted its annual CPS Radio Auction. The auction, which featured several items to be auctioned, was to raise funds for Cass County Child Protective Services. The proceeds from the auction are used to provide items for children in Cass County, such as school supplies, clothing including winter coats, graduation expenses, school activity fees, and other items that may be needed. Items up for auction included jewelry, gift cards from various donors, art, dog grooming services, and much more.
