BETTY HARPER

Betty Ruth Harper, age 87, went to be with the Lord on November 23, 2019 at a local hospital.

Betty was born April 20, 1932 in Atlanta, Texas to Rubye Shine and Jess Stewart.

She was retired from Longview Regional Hospital where she worked as a Radiology Technician; was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church; and enjoyed quilting, embroidery, sewing, and all things crafty.

Many of her beautiful quilts have won prizes at local exhibitions.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joel W Harper; sisters, Lillie Stewart and Frances Cowan; her parents; and her two grandchildren, Sabian Harper and Shava Harper.

She is survived by her three children, Dan (Ashu) Harper of San Diego, California, Mary Lou (Richard) Pemberton of Atlanta, Texas, and Don (Kim) Harper of Texarkana, Texas; her sister, Clara Westbrook of Shreveport, Louisiana; 12 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and a number of special friends and relatives.

Graveside service will be 10:00 am on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at Pine Crest Cemetery in Atlanta, Texas.

Visitation will be from 6 pm to 8 pm on Friday, November 29, 2019 at Hanner Funeral Service in Atlanta, Texas.
