City Council discuss pandemic response plan
The Atlanta City Council met Monday evening to discuss a pandemic response plan that will limit the city employees’ exposure to the public, provide relief for loss of staff due to illness, prescribes methods of sanitization, and includes the temporary closure of the Atlanta Public Library. The Atlanta Library will close on Thursday, Mar.l9th for two weeks. Further closure of the library will be considered and assessed at the end of the two-week period.
Gary Albertson, Vice President of the Atlanta Girls Softball Association, has suspended all practice this week due to the coronavirus threat and plans to reassess over the weekend. Albertson asked the city to continue to let the girls and boys’ league have access to the ball field and to allow him to continue to make decisions about suspensions and postponements moving forward.
