REGINA HELMI PYLE
Regina Helmi Pyle was born in White Plains, New York, on February 23, 1945, to Mildred Helmi Tillman and Silas Carpenter.
At the age of one, she moved with her family to Cincinnati, Ohio, where she lived throughout her growing up years.
In 1964, she moved to Boca Raton, Florida, to model and attend college.
She received her realtors’ license and sold real estate in Florida until 1982, when she moved to San Antonio.
Regina continued to sell real estate until she returned to school to pursue her nursing degree.
In 1988, she became an RN, and later received her BSN degree from the University of Texas at Arlington.
After moving to Atlanta in 1990, Regina married the love of her life, Langston Pyle, and used her nursing degree both professionally and as a caretaker for Langston in his latter years.
Regina easily made friends and loved to spend time with both people and animals.
She enjoyed working in her yard, feeding the hummingbirds, and traveling.
She was a member of the Hat and Glove Society, Amity Study Club, and First United Methodist Church.
Regina was preceded in death by her husband, Langston Pyle, and her daughter, Selina Miller.
She is survived by her daughter, SaRae Blackmer; stepsister, Virginia L. Shamah and husband, Victor Shamah; stepdaughter, Lynne Fitzhugh and husband, Bullitt Fitzhugh, stepdaughter, Debbie Cockerham and husband, Ken Cockerham; and grandchildren, Chelsea Blackmer; William Blackmer; Tyler Blackmer; Sarina Dykes; Jacqueline Mendez; Karmi Miller; and Ariel Thomas.
Viewing was Friday, June 26, 2020 from 10 am to 5 pm, at Hanner Funeral Service.
Funeral services were at 2:00 pm, Saturday, June 27, 2020, at the Hanner Funeral Chapel with Bro. Jacob Smith officiating.
Burial will be in the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, under the direction of Hanner Funeral Service.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or any charity of choice.
