Anna Marie McConnell

Anna Marie McConnell was born on January 10, 1958 to Carl “Judge” Dickerson and Lillie Mae Frazier Dickerson in Vivian, Louisiana. She passed September 29, 2020 in Texarkana, Texas. Anna was a remarkable woman who truly impacted anyone she ever met. Her children and husband believe that “Everyone she met was in the presence of greatness, because she was an absolutely wonderful woman and the best example of a mother, grandmother, and wife.” She is remembered fondly by each and every person she knew and loved.

Anna is survived by her loving husband of thirty-eight years, Eddie McConnell; children: Bobby and Dolores Laster of Atlanta, Texas, Ryan Laster and fiancé Tammy Rutherford of Bloomberg, Texas, Amanda and Carlton Stone of O’Farrell, Texas, Rebecca and Joseph Ferguson of Queen City, Texas, and Breana McConnell of Queen City, Texas. Grandchildren: Elizabeth Stone, Lacey Laster, Candace Laster, Olivia Stone, Bobby Allen Laster, Ethan Ferguson, Linsey Laster, and Noah Haynes. Siblings: Shorty and Linda Dickerson of Bivins, Texas and Juanita Moore of Atlanta, Texas; as well as dear friends: Helen Ann Wilbanks and Cindy Applegate; and many others who dearly loved and looked up to her as a friend, mother, and grandmother.

She is proceeded in passing by her grandmother, Rachel Hodges Frazier; parents: Carl “Judge” and Lillie Dickerson; daughter: Rachel McConnell; grandson: Justin Laster; siblings, Betty Sue Cheek-Webb, Billy Carl Cooper, Billy Doyle “Pete” Dickerson, and Barbara Ann Chamblee as well as her dear friend, Gay Ramsey-Durant.

Visitation and funeral services for Anna were held at Hanner’s Funeral Home. Visitation was held on Saturday, October 3, 2020 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services were held on October 4, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. Graveside services followed immediately after the funeral service at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Vivian, Louisiana.
