James Stone, III
James Clinton Stone, III, age 68, of Atlanta, Texas, went to be with the Lord Friday, October 9, 2020 at Hospice of Texarkana, surrounded by his family.
James was born March 29, 1952, in Atlanta, Texas, to James Jr. and Ethel Stone. He was a retired Heavy Equipment Operator; and a member of Lake Country Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time fishing, and loved working with his hands especially on wood work. He was preceded in death by his brother, Carrel Porterfield and his parents.
He is survived by his five children, Tina Hill and husband Chris of Atlanta, Texas, Clint Stone and wife Brandy of Queen City, Texas, Patrick Stone and wife Tiffany of Blanchard, Louisiana, Pam Stone and Mike Milligan of Queen City, Texas, Sharon Phillips and husband Robert of Vivian, Louisiana; sisters, Neda Stewart and husband Clyde of Atlanta, Texas, Brenda Porter of San Antonio, Texas, Sue Poulson of Atlanta, Texas; sister-in-law, Janice Porterfield of Atlanta, Texas; grandchildren, David Jackson, Kaycee Allison, Makayla Jackson, Destyni Spurlock, Jessica Stone, James Clinton Stone, V, Lucas Stone, Tesla Stone, Reeve Stone, Maxon Stone, Adam Oas, Haley Oas, Logan Oas, Mitch Stone; two great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Monday, October 12, 2020 in the Hanner Funeral Chapel, with Bro. Gary Terry offciating.
Visitation was held Sunday, October 11, 2020, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Hanner Funeral Service.
Interment was in Antioch Cemetery.
