BERNARD EUGENE ELLIOTT
Bernard Eugene Elliott, born August 19, 1935, passed peacefully from this life to the next on January 23, 2021 at Christus St. Michael Health System in Atlanta TX. He was 85 years old.
Bernard is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years Janice (Lair) Elliott; parents Elmer A. Elliott and Mildred (Hogan) Elliott; son Kyle Elliott; and sister Betty Rogers. He is survived by his son Kevin Elliott and wife Pam of Arlington TX; daughter Keri Bray and fiancé Frank Buchanan of New Smyrna Beach FL; brother Don Elliott of Irving TX; wonderful grandchildren Amber Richardson, Brandon Neal, Kristian Newby, Justin Elliott, Erich Elliott, Randi Slaten, Lauren Coats; numerous great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Bernard, born in Hominy OK, was raised in Bartlesville OK. While there, he met his dear wife Janice. They married in 1957 and were together for 60 years before her passing. During this time, he honorably served in the U.S. Navy and was a proud veteran. Bernard and his family moved to Arlington TX in 1961. He worked and raised his children there with Janice. They later moved to Atlanta TX where they spent the next 44 years.
Bernard was a hard-working, committed family man. He had a long career as a facilities electrical engineer.
He was an avid sports fan and loved coaching his sons’ sports teams when they were young. Bernard had a great sense of humor, was loved by many, and was strong in his faith. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy will live on.
A private family graveside service in Bernard’s honor was held at Beech Creek Cemetery in Atlanta on Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2021 at 11 a.m. Interment followed immediately.
