Carl Brock Bryant

Carl Brock Bryant passed away September 30, 2023. He was born February 18, 1949 to George Marshall Bryant and Mary Elizabeth Reed Bryant.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his siblings John Sparks, Ann Sparks, Georgia Mae Bryant and his wife, Shirley Jane Lee Bryant.
He is survived by his son, Paul Bryant and wife Brandi, his daughter, Deanna Bryant Norman, five grandchildren, Randy Bryant and wife Schelby, Elizabeth Bryant, Carly Bryant, Madison Norman, Sean Norman, and one great grandchild, Kennedy Grace Bryant, his stepchildren, Dannette Tucker, Shirlene Matz, Susie Wilson, Dan Hacker and wife Michelle, ten step grandchildren and many step great grandchildren.
Carl was a car enthusiast, owning several classic and sports cars throughout his life. He also loved all types of music. One of his favorite things to do was ride around on an East Texas backroad with the radio cranked up.
He served his country proudly in the Army and as the Veteran’s Service Officer for Montgomery County, TX, from which he retired.
He was a member of Smyrna Baptist Church in Atlanta, TX where he was baptized as a teenager after placing his faith in Jesus Christ for his salvation. He later rededicated his life to Christ as an adult. He read his Bible daily and his faith was evident in his life. He was a loving father and grandfather, always telling his kids and grandkids how much he loved them and how proud he was of them. He stated in his will that his greatest desire was that everyone in his family would know Jesus as Lord and Savior.
A memorial service will be held at Smyrna Baptist Church at 2 p.m., Friday, October 27th.
