JOHNNIE CROSS
Johnnie Faye Avery Cross, age 91, of Texarkana, Texas formerly of Atlanta, Texas went to be with the Lord Monday, December 16, 2019 in an Ashdown, Arkansas adult care facility.
Johnnie was born August 9, 1928 in Atlanta, Texas to Johnson and Clara Avery. She was retired from Texarkana Texas ISD; and a member of Cross Pointe Baptist Church. She was a former licensed Professional Counselor; and a yearbook advisor at Texas High. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting in her later years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnson and Clara Avery; brother, Jimmie D. Avery and a sister, Mary Jane Avery.
She is survived by two sons, Mike Cross and wife Rita of Texarkana, Arkansas, Stan Cross and wife Julie of DeKalb, Texas; five grandchildren, Jennifer Janes, Jeffrey Cross, Brian Cross, Hillary Fontana, Shawna Kennedy; a number of great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a number of other relatives.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 18, 2019 from 1 pm to 2 pm at Hanner Funeral Service.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at the Hanner Funeral Chapel with Bro. Harold Cantley officiating.
Interment will be in Smyrna Cemetery.
