Melanie Thompson Sullivan

Melanie Thompson Sullivan, age 62, of Atlanta, Texas, went to be with the Lord, Friday, October 2, 2020 in a local hospital.

Melanie was born, July 2, 1958, in Atlanta, Texas, to Jimmy Keith and Joann Taylor. She was the owner-operator of the Farmers Insurance Agency in Atlanta, Texas and a Baptist by faith. Melanie enjoyed watching and photographing birds, flowers, plants, and gardening; she was known to have a “green” thumb. She also loved to ride horses and spend time with her family. She was preceded in death by her father, Jimmy Keith Taylor; and her son, Chris Thompson.

She is survived by her husband, Ricky Sullivan of Atlanta, Texas; mother, Joann Taylor of Atlanta, Texas; daughter, Misti Thompson Gryder of Dallas, Texas; daughter, Skye Rodgers of Baltimore, Maryland; stepson Casey Sullivan and wife Courtney of Atlanta, Texas; four grandchildren, Jemma Sullivan, Jaci Sullivan, Luke Carpenter, Raine Carpenter; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 7, 2020, in the Hanner Funeral Chapel, with Doug Butler officiating. Visitation was held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, October 6, 2020, at Hanner Funeral Service.

Interment will be in Salem Cemetery.
