Norman W. Wright
Norman W. Wright, age 79, of Douglassville, Texas, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his loved ones.
Norman was born July 18, 1941, in San Antonio, Texas, to Walter and Thelma Wright. He was retired from Atlanta ISD; a member of First Baptist Church, Queen City, Texas; and the Overcup Hunting Club. He enjoyed spending time doing outdoor activities such as fishing, hunting, and horseback riding. His family described him as a person who never met a stranger and many of them called him “PawPaw”. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Thelma Wright; brothers, Alfred “Shorty” Wright, Walter Wright, Jimmy Wright; sister, Ludie “Cookie” Aurther; and a great-grandson, Jacer Warrick.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Bonnie Wright of Douglassville, Texas; children, Tammy Wright Gunn and significant other Terry Adcock of Douglassville, Texas, Wayne Wright and wife Kelli of Queen City, Texas; sisters, Carolyn Bullard of Texarkana, Arkansas, Janie Griffin of Texarkana, Arkansas; grandchildren, Josh Gunn, Kayla Stanley and husband Cory, Kirbi Sheffield and husband Brett, Ashton Warrick and husband Jared, Dalton Wright; great-grandchildren, Kailee Douglas, Jayla Gunn, Alexys Gunn, Jayvin Gunn, Emma Brabham, Millie, Hallie, Miles, and Sadie Sheffield, Kalaway Warrick; great-great-grandson, Kannon Douglas; special nephews, Jody Randolph, Keith Bearden; close Friend, Charleen Granberry; special neighbor, Norris Hall; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Memorial services were held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at First Baptist Church, Queen City, Texas, under the direction of Hanner Funeral Service with Bro. Billy Sheets officiating.
The family received friends Tuesday, May 11, 2021 from 10 am to 11 am at First Baptist Church, Queen City.
