Rita Pate

November 16, 1949 - February 15, 2024

Rita Pate, age 74, died peacefully on February 15, 2024 in her Kilgore home surrounded by her children.

Rita was born on November 16, 1949 to Kenneth and Dorothy Cheek in Frederick, Oklahoma. One of three sisters; LaDonna, Rita, Shannon; she was raised in Southwest Oklahoma and attended high school in Davidson. She first married at age 15, had her first son, Scott, at age 17 and began her lifelong job of being a mother. At 19, she had her second son, Chris. 45 years ago she married Jerry Pate and had her daughter, Shaunda. She most enjoyed shopping flea markets and spending time with friends and family.

Survivors include her daughter, Shaunda Ramo and husband Steven of Kilgore, Texas; her son, Scott Nease and wife Patricia of Athens, Texas; her son, Chris Nease of Seattle, Washington; four grandchildren; Devin Nease, Christen Mann, Holt Nease, Jay Ramo and six great grandchildren; Audrey, Elora, Sofia, Hunter, Sonnet and Oakley.

A God loving, fiery redhead; she will be forever a friend, forever a mother, forever loved!

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 23, 2024 in the Hanner Funeral Service, with Charles Hale officiating.

Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, February 22, 2024 at Hanner Funeral Service.
