Longhorns ranked in top 10 for both XC and basketball

The McLeod Longhorns had a great year last season on the basketball court and have been ranked sixth in pre-season rankings.

The Atlanta Rabbits tennis team competed in district Oct. 14 and Oct. 16. In a very close match between Atlanta and Liberty-Eylau the Rabbits walked away with a 10-8 win clenching second place in district. The team comprised of Sam Jones, Jake Carter, Will Porterfield, Landon Moore, Fransico Sanchez, Alex Jones, Josh Larson, Gabby Rigdon, Jairy Medina, Yari Sanchez, Jasman Lindley, Arianna Benton, Madison Gillette, and Sarah Clayton will compete in Bi-District against Kilgore at ETBU in Marshall Oct. 27.

My first stop in Oregon was about 30 miles north of Medford at a small reservoir dammed up on the Rogue River. After meeting my fishing guide Nate McKinney at a bait shop, we hit the water early in his 18-foot Willy drift boat. I found Lost Creek Lake a relaxing place to enjoy beautiful scenery on a cool morning. Catching rainbow trout was the perfect way to soak up this peaceful southern Oregon atmosphere as I pulled over 20 of them into Nate’s banana boat.
