Essie Clayton of Rockwall, formerly of Atlanta, where she lived all of her life, turned 100 on Oct. 5. Chastity Hale of the Atlanta Educational Foundation was the speaker for our meeting today. She gave us updates on what all is happening in the area of grants, and what they are able to give back in our schools, and an update on their fundraiser, Blue Jeans and Bling. In 2017 a veteran suicide report shocked the country by declaring that about 20 veterans commit suicide every day. That study was based on data collected between 2005 and 2017.
