Two lithium news-related stories have crossed the wires over the last few weeks. First, a U.S. Geological Survey-led study estimated between 5 and 19 million tons of lithium reserves are located beneath southwestern Arkansas on the border of Texas. It was also recently announced that “StartUp Junkie Consulting will support small businesses in leveraging Lithium for the clean energy and electric vehicle transition across Northeast Texas, Southern Arkansas, Northern Louisiana, and West Mississippi.”

Texas Arbor Day was celebrated in Linden City Park Nov. 1. Hosts were the Linden Garden Club, Texas Forest Service, Linden-Kildare FFA and the City of Linden.

Burn ban lifted

Cass County has rescinded the burn ban on November 1, 2024. “Based on the collaborative decision of the Weather Assessment Committee comprised of the County Judge, the Cass County Emergency Management Coordinator, and the Texas A & M Forest Service, and due to the recent rain in all or part of Cass County, the BURN BAN HAS BEEN LIFTED for all unincorporated areas of Cass County, Texas effective immediately.
