On a recent Saturday, parents and friends of a rapidly growing Cub Scout troop in Atlanta and Queen City met at Cornerstone Assembly of God’s gym at the corner of Main and Louise. Their purpose? To decorate that gym and turn it into a carnival. Cub Scout Pack 343 was back in business.

Dr. Thelma Mothershed- one of the famous “Little Rock Nine” passed away on October 19, 2024. Mothershed was born in Bloomburg, Texas on November 29, 1940. She and nine other black students were handpicked by the NAACP to attend the previously all-white Little Rock Central High, selected on the criteria of excellent grades and attendance along with a fortitude to persevere.
In the spirit of Red Ribbon week, several community leaders gathered in front of a fire truck at the Atlanta Fire Department on Monday, October 28. The mission of the Red Ribbon Campaign is to present a unified and visible commitment towards the creation of a drug-free America.” According to their website “Red Ribbon has touched the lives of millions of people around the world. Caddo Lake is a 2024 American thriller film written and directed by Celine Held and Logan George. It centers around Caddo Lake which resides only a few miles away from Cass County sitting in both Texas and Louisiana. In 2021 there were open casting calls for those in the area.
