Project Linus is an organization that was first established in 1995 in order to donate blankets to children in need. In 2022, Debra Beaumont started a new Project Linus chapter for the Northeast Texas area, covering seven counties: Bowie, Camp, Cass, Franklin, Morris, Titus, and Hopkins.

Judge issues disaster declaration for county

Cass County Judge Travis Ransom issued a disaster declaration for Cass County, Texas after it “suffered and continues to suffer widespread severe damage and loss of property resulting from severe weather beginning on the 8th day of May 2024 and continuing to the present which produced heavy rain, damaging winds, hail, and straight-line winds/tornadic activity damaging numerous public and private structures and placing thousands of residents without electricity for multiple days.”

Veteran NBA players to host camp for ACE Program at AMS

Atlanta, TX – On Thursday, June 20th, Atlanta Middle School ACE program in partnership with HOPE Initiative and National Basketball Retired Players Association (NBRPA) Dallas Chapter, will host a mental health and basketball camp for summer participants at Atlanta Middle School (600 High School LN, Atlanta, TX). The camp will take place in the gymnasium at 12:30 PM (CST).
