On Wednesday, May 29 an audience-involved workshop was held on recidivism at the Cass County Peace Officers Training Center in Linden. Recidivism is a fancy name for someone who goes to jail or prison, receives punishment, and then reoffends again after they are released from incarceration. The workshop was presented by the Cass County Judge’s office and Communities Unlimited. Judge Travis Ransom and Deanna O’Malley from Communities Unlimited were the presenters/ organizers at the event. On Saturday June 8th The Cass County Genealogical Society will hold a free class on researching your ancestry to discover where you come from and who are your kin folk. The class is from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on the second floor of the Atlanta Public Library, 101 W. Hiram in downtown Atlanta. The instructor for this class is C.C.G.S. resident genealogist Traci Jones, Traci is the Registrar for the Trammel’s Trace Chapter of the NSDAR, She has completed several DAR genealogical research courses. This should be a verry informative and enjoyable class.
