National Police Week occurs every May, and in 2023 there will be live, in-person events commemorating the week. In Cass County, on May 17, at the Cass County Law Enforcement and Justice Center, there was an event memorializing the fallen police officers from our area. Nationally, the National Law Enforcement Memorial and Museum will hold ceremonies, including the 35th Annual Candlelight Vigil held on Saturday, May 13, to honor the fallen officers whose names have recently been added to the Memorial.
Four Linden Area Churches come together to host a Kids Community Event, to better allow kids to get to know Christ. The event included bounce houses, bands, games, petting zoos, and Vacation Bible Study signup opportunities.
In laws, outlaws, friends and family are invited and welcome to make new memories and share old ones too. Plenty of good home cooking. If you want bring a dish; just come and share. Everything kicks off at noon on Saturday, June 3, at the First Methodist Church in Queen City located at 304 Marietta Street. For more information call 903-799-2105.
Atlanta Lions Club gave five $1000 scholarships out to Seniors from Atlanta,Ty Graf, Keymyah Smith, and Caedmon Larson; Queen City, Clayton Wellington; and one home school student, Chanlee Long.Vincent Chapman spoke to the club about Banana Ball and brought an autographed baseball the club will be auctioning off.
