Atlanta City Manager David Cockrell said that free bulk waste curbside collection is scheduled in Atlanta from May 9 through May 13. “Residents will be serviced on their normal collection day. So if your normal trash collection day is Monday, then your bulk waste will be collected on Monday,” Cockrell said.
For the first time in the 76 year history of Linden Lions Club a member has been inducted into the Lions District 2-X2 Hall of Fame. Lion Paul Ellinger of Linden, Texas has spent over 20 years as a Lions Club member and has earned that honor. “I am proud to wear my Hall of Fame medal and I am proud to be a part of an organization that serves its community so well,” says Mr. Ellinger. President Charles Horn, a past District Hall of Fame recipient, says that it is an honor to have Paul Ellinger in the Linden Lions Club. “He is the epitome of ‘Lionism,’ faithful in service to the community of Linden and the community at large.” Mr. Ellinger received his award April 23, at the District Lions Club Convention in Mt. On April 26, the City of Linden welcomed David Dulude to be its new police chief. Judge McMillon swore in Dulude to a courtroom full of people that included the mayor and various city administrators. Dulude will be taking over for interim police chief Alton McWaters who is also the Justice of the Peace for Precinct 1. McWaters served briefly after David Lorance resigned as the interim police chief.
Queen City junior Clare Wong won the 3A Girls’ Singles state championship on April 27. Wong won her first match 7-6 (6) and 6-2, her semifinal match 7-5, 6-0 and the championship match 6-3, 6-0. Courtesy photos
