Atlanta Founder’s Day Festival Update
With less than a month left to plan, the Atlanta Founder’s Day Committee has made a few changes and additions to the schedule.
CASS COUNTY HEALTH UPDATE
The Texas Department of Health and Human Services has been alerted to the first reported monkeypox case in our region. It is unclear however where the case is. It should be noted however that PHR 4/5N is a large region in Northeast-East Texas that covers several counties, and is larger than ten states in population and geography, so even though residents should be cautious, they should not be fearful.
QCISD receives A rating
TEA released the 2022 school accountability ratings for school districts across the state of Texas on Friday in a confidential report. Queen City ISD received an overall accountability rating of A with a Distinction Designation in Post Secondary Readiness. Other district level highlights of the report include an A in School Progress, an A in Relative Performance, and a score of 97 in College, Career and Military Ratings. Also received are Campus Distinction Designations in Social Studies, Reading, Math and Comparative Closing the Gaps.
After nearly four years Alvarado still missing
It has been nearly four years since Eric Alvarado went missing; an updated flyer has been circulated to police departments and media outlets in hopes of answers. Once again, family and friends are asking for information about the missing Cass County man.
