On May 13, Colby Boyce from Atlanta ISD Middle School was chosen as the Region 8 Middle School Principal of the Year for being an outstanding school leader.
Sidney Harrist and Dianne Whatley will be retiring after 48, and 46 years of education respectively. In their honor, there will be a retirement reception in their honor at the Atlanta ISD Administrative Office on May 26 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. The Administrative Offices are located at 106 W. Main in Atlanta.
After 48 years in education Superintendent Sidney Harrist will be retiring from Atlanta District schools apart from a part-time project, he anticipates coming up soon.
