It was late in the afternoon when Isaac Simmons got the call: a vehicle was broken down along a stretch of I-45 in Fairfield, and Simmons, a 35-year-old tow truck driver, headed out to help.
The City of Linden will see a utility rate increase that will appear on the Dec. 10, 2021, bill. The increase was unanimously adopted at the October 12, 2021, regular City Council meeting. The object of the increase is to help with ongoing infrastructure issues. The city of Linden issued a press release addressing the increase in detail.

The Atlanta Area Rotary Club celebrated the naming of Past President and current Chair, Fern Porter, as District 5830 Rotarian of the Year. District Governor Jack Welge presented her with a trophy and certificate during their meeting last week. The award is only presented to 535 recipients worldwide each year, and the district is comprised of 42 clubs in Northeast Texas.
