Covid-19: Almost two years later

We will be approaching two years since Covid-19 officially received its first case on March 4th. Since then, Covid doesn’t seem to be going away anytime soon. January 3rd marked the highest daily total of new cases in the U.S... in the midst of that news, our highest court is wrestling over several vaccine mandates to proceed. The mandate affecting businesses with more than 100 employees is set to take effect Monday, January 10. Cass County is also increasing in cases.

Murder suspect caught

The Atlanta Police Department issued an active arrest warrant for 26-year-old Da’Kyree Lamont Hawkins for the murder of Atlanta resident Vidarious Lakeieth Cooper which happened in Atlanta on Friday, December 31, 2021, in the late afternoon.

MLK to be honored by local groups

The Linden Heritage Foundation and the Linden Martin Luther King, Jr. Club will hold a program with the Pleasant Hill Quilters, Linden, Texas. The event will be a celebration of the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. It will be held in the Courtroom at the Historic Cass County Courthouse on January 15, 2022 at 2 p.m.
