On April 4, 2018, the Atlanta Citizen’s Journal reported that Sandy Ray Duncan, 47, of Linden, was charged with the shooting death of his cousin, Danny Duncan, 44, who also lived in southern Cass County at the time of the incident. Sandy took a plea deal that was offered that resulted in an Involuntary Manslaughter charge. The plea bargain includes 10-years-probation, with deferred adjudication, a $10,000 fine, 240 hours of community service, and 60 days in the County Jail.

Several years back there was a thriving Ducks Unlimited organization here in Cass County. Rusty Anderson and a group of other DU enthusiasts are hoping to bring one back. On November 16 at 5:00 p.m. they will be holding a DU Banquet at the Music City Theater in Linden. The cost of the event will include a Ducks Unlimited membership.
Beloved area physician, Dr. Ted Dawson Trimble, was killed in a two-car collision on Highway 11 on Oct. 9. Trimble was 67.
