Readers’ Choice voting goes digital

Readers’ Choice is already upon us again. Seems like just yesterday businesses were competing for your attention in the hopes you would name them the 2020 Readers’ Choice award winner for a particular category. In case you are new to the area, you will notice businesses proudly displaying their winning certificates for categories ranging from best French fries to best bank. Winning isn’t based on what we think here at the newspaper, but what you, the reader, think.

Linden meets for big changes

The Linden City council and the economic development board met Friday, May 7, at the County Seat Café, where they discussed a number of items that included ratifying the vote for the Mayor and Aldermen. For the mayor’s race, Lynn Reynolds defeated Robert Swisher 119 to 64. Michael Berry, 126 and Frank Lanier, 112, won their races for Aldermen against Robert Kenward, 53 and Whitney Goebel, 50 respectively.

VFD to discuss creation of ESD #4

A Town Hall meeting will be held on Saturday, May 22 at Center Hill Baptist Church in Linden at 5:00 p.m. by the Center Hill Volunteer Fire Department to discuss the creation of Cass County Emergency Service District #4 which will include the Center Hill Volunteer Fire Department’s coverage area.
