Jim Simpson of Linden is at an unusual booth during the Linden Main Street Kick Off Fall on the Square celebration Sept. 28. He’s looking at some good buys being offered by the town library. Fill a bag with books for $5, the sign says.

No downtown meeting goes by in Linden without the public appreciating the lawn on the historic Cass County Courthouse. The children play here on the green grass or walk along the stone railing. Notice even the girls are competing, playing football with the young fellows during the recent “Kick Off the Fall on the Square” celebration.

The First Baptist Church at Kildare had an unusual reason for participating in Linden’s ˚Kick Off the Fall on the Square” celebration Sept. 28. The church wanted to give away free cookies, friendly messages and offer the church’s family recipe book. Among those gathered behind their table are Shari Lee, Andrea, Rebecca, Courtney, Xander, Doug Duncan, Butch Landers, Tammy Duncan, one person not identified and John White.

This booth with its baked goods is a first for the three family members. Daughter Madison Aprile, at right, is the one who likes to bake and hopes to turn her enthusiasm into a business for the public. She’s an L-K High School junior student. The mother is Kristen Aprile and sister is Abigail Aprile.

Linden Main Street ‘kicks off Fall on the Square’

Linden Main Street invited the public to the town square Saturday for four hours 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. The idea was to show off “who you cheer for,” described assistant City Administrator Megan Kirkland.

Trail Grinder run benefiting Siderosis research

The third annual Trail Grinder run benefiting research for a cure for Superficial Siderosis drew runners from a wide area Saturday to the trail head of Atlanta’s Sportsplex Park.
