With seven candidates from which to choose, the Journal-Sun is sponsoring and moderating a forum where candidates can introduce themselves and take questions about their position on issues that matter most to voters.
Write-in candidate announces bid for U.S. Congress
Conservative businessman and ministry leader, Tracy Jones, of Texarkana, Tex. announced Monday his candidacy for U.S. Congress in Texas’ congressional district 4 (CD 4). Jones is a native of the district and will run for congress as a “qualified, unaffiliated, write-in candidate.”
American Pickers to film in Texas
Mike Wolfe, Frank Fritz and their team are excited to return to Texas and plan to film episodes of the hit series American Pickers throughout the area in November. With the proliferation of COVID-19, the team is aware that these are uncertain times and will be following all guidelines and protocols for safe filming as outlined by the state and CDC.
Atlanta ISD refinances bond, reaps savings
Atlanta Independent School District announced Wednesday, Sept. 16, the closing of $4,835,000 in Unlimited Tax Refunding Bonds, Series 2020 which refunded the district’s Series 2010C bonds. The refinance will lower its net future payments by $899,744.
