Governor Abbott’s announcement of a phased reopening of Texas gave many small business owners a plethora of mixed emotions. Excitement at the prospect of getting back to normal. Apprehension at the thought of still having to take necessary precautions during this time of social distancing.
Music has always been central to life in linden. From blues legend, T-Bone Walker, rock legend Don Henley, melodic notes of a wide range of melodious hits can be heard floating through the streets year-round.
Most students begin their path in band in sixth grade. Some, even before that. The dedication, the sweat, hours of practice, sometimes carrying a heavy instrument. Not for glory or fame, but for the experience, the discipline, the memories, and the friends made. With school being out for the duration of the school year, band students at Linden-Kildar High School have wondered if their annual spring band trip was still on.
