Band of Champions’ members excel at All-Region tryouts

The Queen City High School band directors took 30 band members to the Association of Texas Small School Bands (ATSSB) All-Region tryouts on Dec. 11, and had 12 students make the Region band.

A few Queen City High School Greenhand Officers attended the Area 6 Greenhand Camp in Lindale last Friday. They participated in leadership activities, etiquette workshops, and learned more about FFA. Greenhand Camp pushed students to step out of their comfort zones, and encouraged them to make new friends. They even attended a dance at the end. Photo by PHYLLIS WARREN

On Friday Dec. 10, Linden-Kildare High School students took on the faculty in a friendly game of volleyball to raise money for the local Angel Tree recipients. The event was sponsored by HOSA and all money raised will be used to purchase gifts for children this Christmas.
