The Chamber of Commerce is a term most people are at least somewhat familiar with, but the definition and purpose are still often misinterpreted.
As spring approaches, more and more Texans will take to the streets, and TxDOT has an important message for both drivers and pedestrians: watch out for each other.
The years after World War II were a time in which America had confidence in its abilities but looked with concern at the many challenges at home and overseas. Beauford Jester became governor in 1947 in an attempt to modernize Texas. Jester’s years as the thirty-sixth governor helped set the tone for the state in the years after World War II.
The state’s unemployment rate dropped to 6.8% in January, down a tick from December’s 6.9% rate but double the record low of 3.4% in May 2019. It is unclear what effect the mid-February winter storm had on employment, when power outages swept the state and many roads were impassable. We’ll find out next month.
