This past weekend was Easter, and Easter is a time full of sentiment and traditions. Some of the most common traditions might include attending church, dying and hunting Easter Eggs, Easter Bunny visits, taking a family photo in coordinating Spring colors, a family lunch or other meal, hitting the grocery stores for clearance Easter candy the day after the holiday, and the list goes on!
He was best known for a short pen name, “O. Henry.” The man behind the stories, William Sydney Porter, was a complicated character with a sharp imagination. Porter wrote hundreds of stories in his short career and became one of the best-known short story writers of the twentieth century.
A Texas Senate committee on Friday passed an elections bill that would tighten the state’s voting rules by limiting extended early voting hours, requiring proof of disability to qualify for mail-in voting and prohibiting drive-thru voting. Senate Bill 7, sponsored by Sen. Bryan Hughes, R-Mineola, is one of Gov. Gregg Abbott’s legislative priorities this session.
