Chemistry students explored stoichiometry and mole calculations using s’mores at Queen City High School last week. They balanced the synthesis reaction of adding each ingredient to create one s’more and calculated the weight of the s’more using the individual weight of all the ingredients. Students also were able to explain the concept of limiting reagents when presented with hypothetical numbers of each ingredient and identifying the ingredient that the students would use up first.
