I believed online voting had a good chance of success, giving everyone an easy way to vote for their favorite restaurant, teacher, or store in Cass County. However, I had no idea how much of a success we would have with it though. In just a few days running, we have well over 4000 (Now Over 10,000) votes cast.
A memorial service is scheduled for local veterinarian Dr. Jim Kunkel, who died October 26, 2020. The service will be held Saturday May 29, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at his former clinic at 1830 S. William Street in Atlanta.
A fundraiser was held for Deputy Russell Anderson Friday, May 14 at Price Hardware to help raise money to acquire a K9 which will assist Anderson in cleaning the streets of Cass County of drugs. Food was provided in the form of barbeque sandwiches and a bake sale. The fundraiser was organized by Shelly Guthrie and started at 11 a.m, ending at 2 p.m.
