A Town Hall meeting will be held on Saturday, May 22 at Center Hill Baptist Church in Linden at 5:00 p.m. by the Center Hill Volunteer Fire Department to discuss the creation of Cass County Emergency Service District #4 which will include the Center Hill Volunteer Fire Department’s coverage area.

The Linden City council and the economic development board met Friday, May 7, at the County Seat Café, where they discussed a number of items that included ratifying the vote for the Mayor and Aldermen. For the mayor’s race, Lynn Reynolds defeated Robert Swisher 119 to 64. Michael Berry, 126 and Frank Lanier, 112, won their races for Aldermen against Robert Kenward, 53 and Whitney Goebel, 50 respectively.

Nathaniel Wayne Johns, 20, of Linden was sentenced to 30 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Correctional Institutional Division on May 6 for the murder of his mother, Melissa Johns.
