It’s the time of year most people in Northeast Texas spend time on the water. While there are many lakes in our corner of the state, there is no other like Caddo, which sits right on top of the Texas-Louisiana border. Many people from Cass County own cabins there and drive the 45-minute commute each weekend throughout the summer.
Motorists who normally travel FM 248 south of Kildare will need to find an alternate route on Wednesday, July 14. Union Pacific Railroad will be closing the highway to through-traffic on this date from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. to make repairs to the railroad crossing.
Effective, July 15, 2021, State Bank has agreed to assume the current leases of the Wells Fargo branch bank and relocate its existing office to the downtown Atlanta bank building according to Joe Nichols, CEO of State Bank. The relocation is expected to occur in September 2021 assuming regulatory approval and completion of all facility and equipment updates. A State Bank ATM should be installed by mid-August.
CHRISTUS St. Michael Hospital - Atlanta honored Fran Wyatt, long-time volunteer, with a “Celebration of Service” on Tuesday, June 29, upon her “retirement” after 20 years of volunteer service at the hospital. Approximately 60 hospital volunteers, staff, friends and family took the opportunity to share their appreciation for Wyatt at the event.
The Chick-fil-A food truck will be coming from Chickfil-A Central Mall in Texarkana. They will be in Atlanta on July 16 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. or until sold out. The Truck will be set up at The Cutting Company Salon + Barber Shop.
