Glow Run shines again

The 8th Annual 5K Glow Run presented by Flint’s Furniture and hosted by the Atlanta Area Chamber of Commerce is a fundraiser from which the proceeds contribute to the chamber’s efforts to serve members and the community by hosting events, providing a local vehicle registration office, hosting the Atlanta Visitor Center and being the informational hub of Atlanta. Of the 100 people registered this year, approximately 80 participated last Saturday night.
Community Veterans Day Celebration

The Cass County Citizens Journal-Sun and KAQC-TV have partnered together to sponsor the First Community Celebration in honor of local veterans. The event will take place at the Atlanta Veteran’s Plaza on Veteran’s Day, November 11, 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.
Permit hearing set for gaming room

The Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Atlanta issued a notice of public hearing to convene at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday Oct. 27 at city hall concerning the application of a special use permit to allow “arcade sweepstakes music download” at 110 W. Hiram St. in Atlanta.
Free meals available to Queen City students

The Queen City Independent School District announced last week that its school board approved a request to serve all district students, ages 0-18, free meals to begin Monday, Nov. 2.
